When my brother and I first learned of the new effort to intergrade the Russians into COH, we were so exited we told every one we knew that played. Soon after all of our friends began downloading and playing the eastern front mod, we all could see the overpowering advantages given to the Russians. My friends and I have been playing COH since the begining and have become affectionatos of the game and the history envolved. To give the russians the types of advantages such as, free arty or hordes of infantry is just op-ing. Not to mention the computer opponants can retreat whenever they want! When we play as Russians we dominate all. When we play against Russians we always lose. We are still very happy to have Russians on the battle field, but they are too overpowered to be fair. The original armies were well balanced enough so that there was very little complaining. With the Russians being the way they are, there are nothing but complaints! We understand that parents always want the most for there kids ,but this? This is too much!  I know im boohoo-ing but the comp is almost impossible. I know you guys are on it though.

the retreating is an AI bug right now. but a major balancing patch (1.2) is already being worked on. the EF team has always been trying to balance the soviet faction with the other CoH factions but this is a difficult task that takes a lot of time. but with every patch they are getting closer.
i'm not a 100% sure but as far as i know the free "abilities" will not stay forever.
you said that vs. russians you always lose...did you play vs. AI or players? (AI got a massive boost).

Certainly, you aren't visiting EF forums "recently", aren't you? ;D. Weeks ago(by the time of 1.10) they decided to remove some "problematic" soviets features in the next patch.

Wehr vs soviets match isn't mean GG or "insta-victory" for soviets, it's fairly balanced; in other hand, well PE... is just PE ;).

@vonhaggon - I'm pretty sure you forgot to hit the update button after install... you probably still play 1.10. What makes you pretty much unqualified for such a statement.

If not.... then you probably are a very unskilled player who just turns on easy coms, and you're question should be "Hey guys, nice mod, how can I become a better player to beat the easy AI?"

How can you not love the new EF fraction?

You seem to not understand that Commads squads arti has a long cooldown and is there (together with harge) to ballance no retreat. Sharpshooters have arti upgrades (not free) just like german halftracks. Soviet upgrdes are cheaper but have longer cooldown.

Soviet infantry are more numerous but Constripts and Ingenery are too weak to do anything but cap.
Wehrmacht can get to vet 1 while PE 4 man squads in time to fight Strelky.
Guards ballance vet 2 grens and PE MP44s.

Soviet armor deployment isnt the fastest. You need to have 30+40+75=145 Fuel to be able to produce Strelky and T-34 US needs 50+90=140 to have Shermans while UK 30+35+65=130 Fuel to have Cromwells.

Please dont confuse my thoughts on the subject. They were not all mine anyway. I have read through many forum topics and see that my guys are not the only one"s with similar issues regarding some of the balance problems. As for the AI boost, i have not read anything on that ,but will pass that down,thnx. We all enjoy the addition of the russians but just feel there is more to be done. All in all we think you guys are doing a magnifcant job and look forward to all you guys have to offer the community.  P.S. if some one critiques your work it usually meens your doing a good job...douche

vonhaggon, the 'critique' "many of us were disgusted" usually doesn't mean that the person ushering those words thinks the job is being done properly. It is downright down-talking something that a lot of people put a lot of time and effort in.
Your entire original post does not show any appreciation whatsoever for the people who work on this mod.

But honestly, 1.11 has its issues with balance but its pretty good for where it is right now. Like I said, better than brits or pe. A lot of very good players agree on that. So, when you post an oppinion which states that SU is OP, than it seems that you either haven't been playin it enough, or you re just not skilled enough to judge.

Obviously, i touched a sore spot...sorry. As for the comment of "being discusted". I was refering to the lvl of dificulty we had against playing the AI.We here all have the upmost respect for the mods creators and hope that they will continue on.If i was pissed off I would not have joind the forum. I joind for feedback ans community.We here love coh in all its glory and revere it as the best strat game ever,so before any one can question my intent realize first that if I didnt love this mod, i wouldnt even be here.  cant wait for the patch....keep it guys....your doing good things!

It's not like that, you come and open a thread, literally crying "soviets OP!!", what do you think will happen next? that's the natural reaction :P. But don't worry, in the next patch probably those free abilities will be gone.

I'm hoping this release will be the one to reel in the GR crowd again. Take as much time as they need to get it near perfect because many people might not give the mod a third chance.

You know...I can understand people being disappointed in the release balance...I fully simpathise and believe it should never have happened....

But on the other hand, it pisses me right off when people suddenly develop zero tolerance/patience because the mod is free while still playing COH through 4 yrs of patches and flaws.

Lets be honest, people are not doing us a favor by playing this mod (cause we have no profit)
They're only doing themselves a favor by enjoying a free product. As such, by not giving the mod more tries and help out, they are the ones that stand to loose not us. We'll always get our kick from our result...its why we do it  ;)

PS. You either learn to express yourself more accurately so people don't get the wrong idea about what you're posting...or you apologize for posting like a douche and don't try to change what you say with lame excuses. I'm disgusted at your mod..but this is a good thing really and I mean it in a good way cause I can critisize. -wtf?

If you like it, play it. I you hate it, we don't care, just stop playing it. If you have a suggestion, that's great. But if you are just posting to tell use how much you hate it, that's when we get mad. It would be way better if you said this:

Me and our friends thinks this mod is unbalanced for these reasons( blah blah blah, don't say it rude) Is there a patch that's going to fix it?

Or:

Me and my friends cant beat the EF Comp, are they to op, or is it me? And if its me, got any suggestions.

The first guy, I was playing in 1v1 'at' on Beux Lowlands. I was on the right side, he was on the left (im bottom right). I send my first pio squad to cap the CP thats JUST outside my base. I move like 20ft, he goes all the way acorss the map, sets up an FHQ (with no one inside) in the building. I managed to cap pretty much everything he had (i had a sniper in his base - like always :P) and he managed to tech to M8s with basically no fuel at all - from only having a barracks. WTF hax.



2nd guy COULD have been a bug, but its timing makes it seem like a hack. I basically was playing North Struz, and managed to get out two ostwinds in a timely matter. I basically rush his base, he goes "????, ?????????" (characters dont show up), everything stops moving (im like "zomg drop-hack"), then the game crashes. Possibly that my game just HAPPENED to crash then, but its the only time its EVER crashed, and I have over 120 games in the COH:O CN beta.



Really guys, we need a proper anti-cheat system. Drop-hacking is one thing, but being able to get FHQs infront of bases within seconds is broken.Oh, and if you want the names, I can do that either, They show up like this:

Unfortunately you can't make happy all the players, it always will be someone that tries to break the order... and there's when enter the n00b smashers 8)... I mean, you are doing a great job, and it's almost no one fault(at least not from you, i included a list :P) if someone comes and complain about bs.

These are the culprits from EF bad press, usually come alone, but sometimes combined:

-Noobs.
-Narrow-minded players.
-Pseudo-experts.
-Chaos Theory ::).

Yeh, i catch a lot of crap over the original message i posted. Sorry to all -i guess. I managed to change my tactic a great deal and gain victory on a few maps , but the russian comp is soooo damn hard! Anyway I keep on playin.
