Difficulty against Experts

First, thanks to the entire team for this mod, it's really great !

My buddies and i had first played Eastern Front on v1.04. We used to play a lot against expert IA russians (annihiliation). And it was really hard sometimes !

But we noticed that now, with v1.11, expert IA russians are no longer very hard to beat... Yesterday, we crushed 4 expert russians but we were only 2 humans !!!

Is it normal that expert russian are now easier to beat ? Would it be possible to restore the difficulty to what it was before ? Or even make them stronger ?

Just build barbwire around every resource/victory point you capture and it's GG even vs Expert CPU. And this worked also before when AI had like 100% more resources on that difficulity. Watch these to check how it works, non-chokepoint map of course:

Note: for obvious reason it is hard to pull something like that with PE, because PGs can't build barbwire only with SE doctrine and Roadblocks activated, or to use Luftwaffe ground forces. Both requires 1 CP so you have to fight first and try to secure points later. I didn't try it yet because I have enough of comp stomping :)

Even on chokepoints maps Russians experts gave us a hard time... Now, it's just too easy on chokepoints maps...

Try not placing barbed wire around every capture point. It appears that the Russian AI havn't been scripted to get through barbed wire yet. It could be considered a bit of a "bug", and i guess you're just using the bug in your favour. It might be more of a challenge for you then  ;)

Hehe the problem is that I don't find battles vs AI challenging... it could be fun of course and that is the reason we play CoH - to have fun, but it's not challenge for me. Challenge is only when I play vs humans.

And AI does sometimes figure out how to break barbwire, following examples I have seen personally when compstomping:
- PC use engineers to cut the barbwire
- PC use Mortar barrage to destroy barbwire
- PC running through barb+tanktraps with heavy armor and crush it
- PC is shooting with every barrel like dumbass into barbwire and eventually breaks one hole into it
- PC throwing Satchel charges into barbwire to break it

So it's not like guaranteed victory vs Expert AI - just to build barbwire. But if you do that it is quite effective. You have to use some skill too.

And btw it works to some point also vs human players, at least you delay his capping because most of the players cap with Shift+move order in the rush of battle and don't check how they cap, so after some period he figure out that his capping unit is standing next to barbwire and doing nothing :)

Trenches.
When youll have a defensive line use katiushas.
Advance slowly. Use ZiS-2 guns and mortars if you like, just dont get them too close to the front line. Most enemy arti barrages will drop on these trenches.
Tank hunters + sharpshooter is a great defensive team with alot of spotting range.

Bt now theres only 5 constcipts so treunchs dont work :'(
