Need advice

As you may or may not know I have been working on a WW1 mod on the side for the TW series.

Then one day some fools come to the twc and start taking material and members because they are the new proclaimed "hip" mod. Now its not enough that they have taken our members and material and support they have tried to frame us with this ill conceived plan to get our mod for plagrizing and when I simply state the facts about us being around long before their mod even exist they simply plug their ears then say "na na na na" not exactly what they say but it is what the mean just different word choice.

Seriously it pisses me off and if I weren't in college for the summer I may had taken it further and tried to report them but didn't. Just shows a clear lake of maturity in that series and its supposed "fans" but then again CA are not so bright either..

Think I may just move my resources here and focus on EF it seems to have better and more mature community, don't want to have to listen to immature 12 year olds with their ill fated logic or lack thereof. what do you think?

hmm quite a fix you've gotten yourself in. one thing I have to wonder is how did they gain access to all of your material?

Edit: and remember all that are younger are not immature ;) heck, I'm just now going to ** and have references to Norse Mythology. I do agree that most 12,13 & 14 year olds are complete and utter idiots, however I did say 'Most' not all.

But I hope am one of the ones thats not "inmature".

Am not kidding either. That really hurt my feelings. Now I feel like am not part of this community and that am just some inmature 12 year old. I hate how people judge people on there age. You know why I didnt post my age on my accont? Well know you know.

And dont replie saying "I said most!" "I said most!"  I really mad and sad now.

Its not about that, its just simple fact that most 12 year olds or ie those who have not yet started to mature are like this , not sure on the exact numbers here but I can assure for the US this is true.

This is about the fallacy that they have created that because they are new they can make such baseless claim and try to "destroy" the mod we had long established, its pretty damn pathetic I must say but anyway that just shows the complete lack of maturity and logic on their part.

BWahahaha , don't worry Seeme , I'm a Yankee too (I'm from Illinois ,I even pronounce it El-en-oi :) ) and am also within the idiot age range , I understand your reasons for not putting your age, when people see that you are younger than 15 , they tend to lose respect for you. I'm going to 8th grade next year and have a whopping friend count of 2 (within 1750 Miles) . I find that kids my age on average are morons that believe themselves to be superior to Egyptian Pharoahs. :)

I would be glad to help aswell Sovereign, ofcourse it might take me awhile to get the proper tools and get an understanding of modding ( I have %1 experiance, the most I did yet was modify some SH2 sound files so the Maceman doesn't sound like a skinhead, and I made a couple of Google Sketchup models. meh, I didn't say I would be useful but I'm always ready to help.)

Well tbh I don't think I will continue working on it or I will wait it out and work on it later when the proper converters/tools come... (yes they have yet to even release them to their "fanbase")

I just wonder what the devs here would have done in the same situation..

They would be mad just like you and do nothing about it.

except they would probably continue their work , but I can't speak for them.

First I have done quite a bit about it and haven't 'taken it lying down'. Ironically enough I tested a theory of mine that all this "co-creater" wanted from me was a type of defeatist apology, soo I pmed him with my own pseudo apology with several hints and clues in it and sure enough he bought it and is now satisfied. lol

I used to think that people who were 'code monkeys' had to be smart and or sensible sorta geek like people but this nitwit debunks that theory entirely.  :P

Well they didn't neither did we that's the irony of it.

The only thing they have to go by in their pursuit is unsubstantiated claims that by using screenshots of their work that it goes as plagiarizing but if this were the case then I wouldnt have mentioned the mod and the names of all those who worked on the material in the first place..

Also I have decided to work on it again but will do the bulk of the work when the sdk comes, if ever...

wait wait wait, so You posted pictures of their work and they said that you said that it was your work ? I'm very confused because you said in the main post that they stole your members and material, but now you say that they didn't.

Let me clarify on that, I showed both groups works for promoting the idea and mod(s) types. In regards to the members in a way they did "take" at-least one very good member that defected to help them and no longer help us, which hurt us in many ways because he had worked on roughly 70% of our models, it would had been understandable if he had just told us then gave us the material he originally intended for our mod but instead he just covertly goes over and joins their efforts with the material, there were others but they were not official.

Still contemplating on rather or not any of the members will be alive to help by the time we gain momentum, if not and the sdk doesn't release soon I'll just forget about it.

That's just it, we tried to combine resources and effectively "merge", however, it was deemed from the so called "co-creator" who is as of now acting like the creator and founder, that we had already decided to merge without approval which was not the case and after talking with the actual founder and creator it was determined that it was a misunderstanding..

Regardless this "co-creator" had achieved the goal of making sure that a merge wouldn't happen due to his pre-set hostility to our mod.

Good news however maybe now that their site has been down for 2 or so days and considering how much he posted and amount of spam along with those posts, maybe he decided to commit seppuku from withdraw.  :D

Also Seeme like I stated I have negotiated with them quite a bit but its this "co-creator" who refuses to actually listen and claims that our mod is "old and taken too long and sucks". Word of advice you need to use your spell check and word choice, there is not the correct use its their and its immature and not "inmuture"

On topic , well they stole his stuff because they had a man on the inside, which he would need in order to reclaim his material.

Back on Topic , umm yeah I think the Dark Brotherhood is your best contact ATM , I'll put in a word for you and we can see about your problem in a few days , will you be paying in blood or coin ?

Lol, I remember those days of masquerading around Cyridil (however you spell it) and taking prisoners to put in my dungeon from that beloved Dark Brotherhood mod, it certainly did relieve stress and make for some fun scenarios especially when you put them in the arena to fight each other or against some spawns..  ;D

Anyway enough of the TES4, recently found out that this chap has gone so far as to piss off several other sects of the community among them many admins,mods of the community and thus the reason why they are without an actual forum and or site.

Also he will find that it will be near impossible for his mod to survive long on moddb thanks to some insightful discoveries and other devices which will inevitably result in the downfall of his mod altogether.

The genius of it will be that he will do most of the work for his undoing.  ;D
