I got problems against a simple mg squad + pak38

Everything is in the title ;)

I know im not a good player, but i think is some maps (new moskov for example or most hardly, in Vienna), i got mass-killed by a simple f*** axis MG squad in a building, and early tanks dont really help me since AI often get a pak38 that nearly never miss his target..

I my mind, i'm suffering from the lack of mobile mgs. the only response i can make is arty and mortar, witch is easily counterable by simply moving axis troops..
soviets dies so fast now that if axis put an mg on the good house, VP games are toasted (especialy in Vienna or in Moskov, no cover to counter the axis mg in Vienna church.. witch cover 2 VP at the same time oO)

aie aie plz make the mobile mg animated as soon as you can dudes ;)

I tried to use snipers for assaulting the church in vienna, but they got killed several times, sometimes without shooting anything before.. And the human shield of conscrit was instakilled :(
maybe it was not the right human shield against a double MG + pak + sniper..

For the double Tank, thats actualy what i do, but in early game it is not possible, not enough fuel :(

Even if Soviet infantry is cheap and expendable you can't treat them like garbage and throw them away. Always use infantry in combination with Commander - where you expect MGs just use Fire up! ability of Commander to break suppression and then Mortar barrage to bombard MG position. In contemporary version [1.10] build Muster tent AND Support barracks and instead Conscripts build Strelky. Use Strelky in group with Commander and raid whole map. Works like charm even vs expert PC.

I attached a replay (unpack the .zip) vs Expert PC[1.10], see how you can beat AI and it's not the chokepoint map. The idea is to use more Engineers and secure the points with barbwire and AI could not deal with it :)

EDIT: replay doesn't work under 1.11! I will remove it.

I for one have lost count of how many times ive garrisoned a building, picked off a handy few conscripts, only to have the commanders barrage crush my poor grennies to dust.

Command squad arty is THE counter to mgs. Fireup also works well. Honestly Soviets should have no trouble with mgs.

Try posting a replay in the strategy section, I'm sure someone will take a look and give you more personalised advice rather than general tips.

Hey Wordsmith, Do you also have a replay vs expert soviets on 1.1? because I already have difficulty when playing against hard soviets..

Don't have yet, becuase f***ing Russians when played by PC are retreating :) it is quite hard. I will try tomorrow. Btw the replay from 1.10 doesn't work in 1.11.

EDIT: ok here you are boys, both replays for Soviet and for Wehr vs Expert PC non chokepoint map [1.11]. Vs Soviet it was much harder, it took like 3 or 4 games to figure out that I need also snipers :) after I built sniper, the game was won.

Note: it is against rules to post replays vs AI and I discovered it only yesterday, but I think this is only informative to show how the trick with barbwire works. If it is a problem I could save the replay in some databank and post link only.
