Some help starting

Hey sorry guys if this topic is already been posted. For the past hour i have been looking to how to start the game. I downloaded everything i have the latest patch installed for both CoH and for the eastern front. When i go to launch eastern front nothing happens. I have windows 7 and ran under admin mode. All it does it does the load icon by my mouse and then nothing happens. Interesting when i click at the bottom right corner to do like directories and stuff, the list is completely blank.

Also when i try to update the game automatically it says the server cannot be reached because it took too long. And  the eastern front launcher can read the latest version.

1. Are you using the steam version?

If yes:
Do "Verify integrity of game cache"

If no:
How many DLL files do you have in your main CoH Directory? (I have 42, two of which are EF dll's).

sorry i didnt put this info in the orginal post. I have the steam version and i verified both the orginal CoH and the opposing force with out any problems with it, and it will not start even then.
Some reason it started to work, but now it asks for a cd kkey, im going to look on the forum for some help there

Make sure you installed the game (and all the patched) to the correct folder, not in the default one that pops up.

(eg. check if there's any files in "C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes").
