Which Company of Heroes army is easy to play as besides the British?

I am not so sure which army is easy to play as. I am not really good at want to use an easy faction as a foot to get better.

Play some annihilation skirmishes vs a computer so you can get the feel of every unit without worrying about vp ticking away.
If you want to be good you have to know what are the strong and weak points of every army and unit.

You can play America well, you can play every other army well in short amount of time

Thats true. Wehrmacht is the hardest for rookies.
It takes a long time to know when to tech up or add veterancy.
It takes a long time to know with abilities or upgrades you want to spend your ammo on.

On the other hand US has good "do it all infantry" and with the superior speed of US vechicles its easy to lern what are the strong and week points (speed, turret rotation) of enemy vechicles.

Also, to measure if an army easy or not is by see how many role a unit in the army can do. Wehrmacht is hard because their unit is very specialized, although it gives a lot more choice, it's drawback is it is hard to know which unit in when. Don't understand that and you dead as wehrmacht.

America however, has riflemen that can do almost all stuff: suppress enemy infantry, use sticky bomb to destroy enemy armor, and have a lot of slot to pick enemy weapon. So in most case, just build riflemen is enough to win with America. At least for beginner. However, it is not consider as play America well, but a good start to play CoH.

It depends, I prefer Wehr over the Americans. Maybe it's just me.

in my humble opinion the most specialiced army is the Panzer Elite, cause they are a faction of hard counters.
their units are amazing at one thing(marder: kills tanks, amored car: fucks up infantry, :kettenkrad scouts) but they cant fullfill multiple roles(marder gets raped even by machine guns, amored car loses to greyhounds and even sticky bombs, kettenkrad has to use its speed to escape cause it cant fight)
so in my opinion panzer elite is hardest for beginners :D

No, I hardly Ever play As the Americans , I preffer the Wehrmacht , I just started off with them, The defensive doctrine is very beneficial at Lyon, just put a Flak 88mm in the center bridge area and you're set haha.

for me I'm best at PE and Wher at a tie and then americans and british at last although I do try hard with them they just suck so much.

It's all about getting used to army. Beat 2-3 times US campaign on Expert and you beat ANYONE with USA. Finish 2-3 times Caen campaign on Exp - you know brits like your own pocket. BUT - any army is easy for someone who knows it.

When we talk about rookies... USA. US was made to be first and basic army for CoH. Playing Wehr comes with skirmishes and MP, when you already know hot to play, and whole campaign was ment to get player used to US army. Of course, after comleting US campaign you can PLAY US, but WINNING MP MATCHES with US is whole diffrent thing...

I't all about getting used to army.

what the fuck are you talking about? Americans have plenty of medium armor and 1/2 of PE is light armor.

Goes to show how the variety in CoH means we all have our favorites.  For me the british are harder than the other 3 standard sides since I find their units and upgrades expensive.

Early on I preferred airborne doctrine with USA, but lately I prefer any of the wehrmacht over that.  And of course any of the Russians over them !  ;D

True.
UK has the lowest firepower of them all.
25lbs, Cromwell, BREN gun are weaker than 105, Sherman, BAR. UK mortars, AT guns and MGs are immobile.
Base rape is a common thing, retaking trenches is hard, oficers die too quickly, Tommies cap slower than US rifleman...

On the other hand UK has the strongest units early in the game and their (Tommies) 0,25 recived accuracy retreat modifier helpes them to survive and reinforce. Becouse there are usually less units to micro when your commonwealth I would advise noob players to play as UK.


Thats why lerning how to play (basic micro - US campain) is the easiest with US.
If you learned how to micro, when to retreat, what to defend, when to attack, etc. but youre still slow with giving orders, UK is the choice.

I play Wehrmacht almost exclusively, they are basically the "no BS" faction. While the Americans and British can afford to have 2 or 3 crushong moments in a game but still have a chance to win, Wehrmacht is much more unforgiving. PE is very fragile and most of their stuff needs good micro to be useful. Allies are generally for noobs, as you can make more mistakes and get away with them.

I third Ost's statement.

I like the Whermacht as you can play more realistically. Artillery barrages, then roll in the armour, infantry on the flanks. So much fun when it works.

I like a mixture of panzer IV's, V's and Ostwinds. You can still advance even your infantry is killed or forced back and not have to worry too much about infantry attack.

With the US ranger spam usually does the job, I hate a ranger blob just rushing through my bunker or mg line, shouldn't be like that.

That happened in my last game, but I held them off and counterattacked with armour and nebelwerfers. Won the game despite my two allies dropping out!
