[1.04] Sharpshooter Deployment Speed

Hi,

I don't know if this is a bug that came with the latest patch but sharpshooter teams are taking FOREVER to reinforce. I don't recall this being a problem in earlier builds but I specifically set out today to test this out. It took me AT LEAST a minute to reinforce my squad - maybe longer. There needs to be a severe reduction in redeployment speed because right now my SS squads spend more time sitting at HQs and forward bases than actually fighting.

I think the deployment speed is 50 seconds. I don't think thats a bug.

Can't find a changelog for 1.04 (cause 1.02 didn't speak to SS time), but can speak through an anecdotal. Took me a good minutes to reinforce, seemed bout the same time as to make the unit to begin with, and had to be right next to the OP. But w/o that changelog, can't back a single thing up.

Yes I can confirm that. I believed (and still believe) it was a problem. So when 1 of your sniper man dies, it is good as over, since the other guy does not have a sniper rifle (I think, need verification) and he is greatly exposed (no cloaking).

Person who guard the sniper must have automatic short range weapon,no rifle.Is enough scoped rifle from sniper for long range attack,but also is need another effective SMG for defending at close range,because team remain undefended without ability to enter again in stealth and move far from danger.Also i think russian sniper team deserve 250 cost,3 maximum units,short time for recruiting first team,and the next teams to be recruited far more slow.

I told about 250 cost,because they have high risk to be killed,because don't have retreat from dangerous situations,and walking around without stealth expose them to high dangers.

Russia have problems with scouting the area.They have no armored cars,and T-70 and T-90 come later.Also they are not very good for scouting,because can be destroyed very fast if encounter pack,and their price is not very cheap to be ignored.

Single unit who can do scouting job is sniper ace who come later,and is expensive,and is for one doctrine.Their snipers are simply unable to do that better than other infantry.

They need scouts...i mean one man who walk in stealth for discovering enemy positions,unable to capture points,armed with pistol...and giving informations about enemy positions....for artillery,snipers,infantry,tanks...etc...

Ya i kinda like the idea of having an unarmed scout!
Though i think the command squad is supposed to scout with its binoculars.

Command squad is just one,and can't cover entire map.Command squad can't scout the area equal with 4 snipers or three bike or light vehicle.

One Motorcycle or ketentrack,or sniper is far better than he.Vehicles have speed,and sniper have stealth.Command squad is not for scouting.Using his binoculars is not called scouting.

Remember reading somewhere , The Sniper Build times have been increased to match that of the werchment ..Thus the delay ...

you're right renart, he is supposed to scout with his binoculars...considering that's what they are used for other then bird watching.... and during war I doubt a Major gives half a rats ass about little tweety birds.... I use the bios to see if there is an MG so I know when to use my Fire Up or Arty or both... its something that is probably underused.... and it could in fact be more overpowered then a roo spam!

As i told in another topic...

Russia was far superior in number of snipers from all countries in that period.Workers,hunters,womens,and even children's was very skilled with sniped rifle,inflicting to elite german infantry heavy casualties.

USSR was used many teams of two female snipers and not just one man like other countries(excepting spotters).
Also many russian partisans was used sniped rifle.If they will have one sniper in squad will make them truly awesome unit.After that their price must be somewhere around 450.

How many they was = number one in the world
How skilled they was =very skilled;probably number one
