T-70 as detector? ^^

Hi there!
Again I have to say: Good job on this mod!
When I read the changelist, I had to laugh a little though...
I know, the soviets were lacking detector units. But why should this be the job of the T-70? Yes, it was planned as a recon-tank...
But for real, this tank was loud because of its 2 motors (which you can actually hear in this mod -> again: good work!) and it had a personell of 2 men! The commander, who was also the loader, the gunlayer (and radio-operator?) in one person, and another man for the driving...
Imho the driver sits to low for spotting camouflaged units reliably and the commander is clearly too busy with all the other stuff for doing this job.
Maybe some other unit would match the job of a detector  a little better...
What do you guys mean?

It wasn't done with 'realism' in mind, but for gameplay balance. Do you really think they'd send a jeep/bike with 2 exposed/sitting ducks guys to track down a sniper??

In game terms, its a light vehicle that can somewhat hunt down a sniper mid game where loads of infantry and AT are around and snipers hide behind these.

Even if spots a sniper - with 45mm gun its hard to kill him because of low accuracy.

T-40 had twinns in turm: 45mm and 7,62 LMG. Will LMG be added?

Maybe put a man on the tank, like a Tank Rider, for something like 25mun?

I would like to see the T-90 have this abilty in place of the T-70.

Then you can kill snipers easily and combat infantry.

It would have to be tested as in may be OP.

Ja, kinda of funny you can spot the sniper but can't kill it or damgae it very easily unlike the mortorcycle jeep and bren

It would be OP, sniper would have no chance, hence why we went with the T70

Sniper MUST have no chance,if are not supported,or used as a spotter.

Every unit must have one special purpose and weakness,other than others.

After that we will talk about perfect balance,close from real life,but balanced in gameplay.

Can be done that,but is not intended that,and this is a sad thing.

Sniper retreating in time from a Jeep/bike/Scout car has a decent chance of getting away...vs a T90 he'd get raped in seconds...no

Than why is need for T-70 to spot them,and T-90 to kill them ?

This is not an mistake in concept ?

Is necessary JUST one unit to take out one threat...no more.

strong points vs weak points.

If this points are clear defined in units....this mod will be even more shiny.

Also i suggest to be used more artillery models for battlefield,and far less tanks.
In the late period of game,all battle are between tanks,and that become boring.
In WW2,infantry and artillery role was far more important than here.
This can be made,and results can be really amazing.

Tanks will be used as mobile strong units,for surprise factor,scouting,harassment,flanking maneuvers,or infantry support in direct assault,and not to be send alone against enemy fortifications.

Tanks alone,in WW2,was unable to conquer strong resistant points,without massive infantry assault and artillery support.Some strong defensive positions,was necessary to be weakened long time by artillery and airplanes,before the assault.

Now,in this mod/game don't exist real strong defensive positions.
Things can be changed,and situation can be improved very much,making this game to be more close from WW2 tactics and battles.Is not very hard.Is necessary just to be desire for doing that.

Why not give them them a lend-leased US Jeep painted with a darker green and a red star on the hood, or a Gaz 67?

I saw a tank battalion accidentally run over 4 snipers as they where advancing to my AT line once :P I started laughin so hard while the other guy cried hax even though he let the Snipers get run over :p
