Why Can't Heavy Mortars Use Barrages Anymore?

What happened, I thought mortars pre-patch could fire a barrage on a target area, now they can't.

Read the patch notes. The barrage ability now requires the mortar upgrade.

Pre-upgrade mortar teams : 4 people :)
AFTER-upgrade mortar teams : 5 people. Got 3 vet studs
on head. Get barrage. No more phosphorous rounds :(

It only applies to NEW mortar teams, though.

isn't the attack ground thing jsut the same as a barrage except maybe a little slower

Why'd they remove phosphorus anyway and instead replace it with smoke?
