Penetration vs PE Panther tank

it seems that the t34 has an easier time penetrating the pe panther, then the wehr one. cant confirm this but when playing i saw 2 t34 penetrate and do more damage to my panther from frontal shots then they did against my wehrmacht friends panther...

i could be mistaken tho

PE/WH panthers have identical stats, you can't differentiate the two.Same hit points and same armour type.

What you're seeing is probably the Vet1 effect on WH panthers which makes them more resilient early on

yes they were upgraded ones

im finding them to be alot more difficult to beat then is2 spam.. since their vet 3 and their new cannons do some wonderful damage, 4 of them can easily take on 4 panthers

maybe the t34 should behave like the sherman, unupgraded its good at hitting infantry, then give it similar stats to that of a upgunned sherman

even though the 85 was bigger then the 17pdr? (75mm) or even the 76.2mm???

We've tested that 2 days ago, if the Panther Vet0 kites/manouvers well it's a 50/50 battle...if its vet1-3 it's likely to win. T34/76 is worse than a sherman 75 and a T34/85 is better than a sherman 76. That's how you should think about them. The panther will win vs two t34.85s the majority of times

i suppose thats fair, but considering you have access to su 100 and is2 for that job, shouldnt the t34 have a different role then becoming a panther tank itself?

Two T34/85s should absolutely be able to beat a panther more than half the time.  Thats 600MP/150fuel PLUS the 300 muni AT upgrade to make them decent.  Vet doesn't matter, 300muni is a LOT for the upgrade and means picking it over upgunning infantry, same as wehr vetting armor with fuel.  Also, the SU100 from my experience is worthless.  Expensive to upgrade, expensive to buy, cant beat a panther on its own, and is easily circlestrafed or schrecked.  Its like a very overpriced stug.  The only russian armor worth a damn is the IS2 and the new patch makes it balanced in cost.

So should two shermans but they don't...it doesn't work like that....just because something costs more resources doesn't mean it should win.
That's the reason you have the SUs, which are great AT, and the reason you have an IS-2

The IS beats the panther 1v1, you don't need another tank to beat it 1v1.
Have you tried the SUs vs Pz4s/Stugs/Hetzers?...anything but worthless. Axis/PE isn't all about Panthers...

SUs are 100 fuel and 300muni.  Whats the point of buying one when you can wait for an IS?  It shouldnt take a 100 fuel tank destroyer to beat a 55 fuel tank destroyer.  SUs are easily circled by P4s.  The sherman is an anti-inf tank, the t34 is no where near as good vs inf.  Both of them are shit against axis armor even upgraded.  SU100s should be able to beat panthers 1v1.  If not, its a worthless tank.  Ive tried it in multiple games and I just havent found a reason for it to exist.

If your in a fuel/manpower crunch. IS-2 is better, but you get more bang for you buck from the Su-85 and su-100. Plus SU-100 takes less damage from infantry AT (schrecks etc) unlike the IS-2

By pop cap you mean?  I didnt think about that.

Havent` used Su-85/100 a lot, but I noticed that shell`s don` just bounce of when Su fires them, however if you give it an ambush ability it will be very useful indeed. Su-152 should have a little bigger range and no ambush (it`s little hard to hide such a beast)
