Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

Looks like a good design, looks very similar to a German Armored Car.

thats what the t-90 is for

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

Sd.Fkz.222 and Halftrack are able in 2nd building, and that crappy T-90 - only in 3, after 150 fule.

See the difference?

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

I agree. T-90 appears when infantry have bazookas and other AT weapons. And in real world, they were just prototypes not massively built tank.

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

Also, S.Kz.222 could cap points, no one of Sov vechicles - cant.

For some reason, the T-34 is able to cap points. I don´t know if that was solved in the patch, though (besides, I wonder if a T-34 with riding infantry could cap like a Bren...).

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

It was probably the tank rider 34s they can cap but can do it without the inf on it for some reason. Also Sd.Kfz 222's cannot cap only the scout 221's can the 222's are the ones with the 2cm cannon. They could also use a T60 which is a t70 type body with a 2cm belt fed auto cannon and a mg in the turret. Still, having a BA-64 would be a very good balance, also in real life BA-64's were sometimes upgraded with PTRD/S's in the turret replacing the mg, more upgrades in the armory anyone?.

I think the model is done, but I didn't see it with the textures.

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

SauerKRAUT - BA-64 PT (anti-tank), with PTRD in turm - was opnly a prototype, and was never built.

Strange, I have read about some and even a realism tabletop I do called Flames of War lets you use them, there are still the ones with the DShk's. Also from battlefield.ru "However, all those works were abandoned, the reasons are not clear for me yet. Anyway, in the regular army there were sporadic home-made conversions with both PTRS and PTRD antitank rifles."

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

Hmmm.... Yep, even if some 1-3 or even 10 such cars were made - from >6.000 it is a very small part...

IS-2 almost usually had 12,7mm HMG on top - in game we have no.
ISU-152 crews used to add "anty infantry device" with DP or even MG-34/42, mounting it on roof top.
Many other examples I may recall...

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

Those MG woud be some uprgades like the enginery's flamethrower. 50/75 muns per tank to get it.
So, the muns could be usefull somewhere else than in the armory.

I did a drive by with a T-90 and killed 16 Panzer Greniders

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

I like that idea.. :) good thinkin with the t-90? ;) ;) that would be awesome!!!!

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

what the drive by or the changing of it into a car with a mg?
#24143

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

do you guys really think a crappy little badly armored car with one 7.62 MG is better then a moderately armored light TANK with 2 .50 cal machine guns?

the bA64 should be added not replaced. I think T60 is better replacement idea then BA64 anyways.
#24159

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

A BA-64 will be a good reconnaissance vehicle if its early game, built from the support structure compared to a non-existant t-90

yes, t-60 should replace t-90
a 20mm firing 700–800 rounds/min
and a 7.62 mm MG sounds almost better.

This was pre-patch, so it might not count but:

I had my T-90 fire at some Assault Grenadiers. 2 long MG Bursts later only one of them is dead. Then a Tank-Hunter squad came up and shot me once, forcing me to retreat my tank or lose it. I hate the T-90.

Oh, and not to mention that in a fight with an SdKfz. 222 Armored Car, it did almost nil damage, the armored car also did nothing. I suppose that's excusable because it isn't anti-armor but still, even the American Quad can hurt an Armored Car.

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

"This was pre-patch, so it might not count but:"
sorry I did not explain fully
the T-90 had no panzer shreks or fausts to deal with and if the German soldiers ran away then my conscripts (which were right behind the fog of war) would be ready to take half the map away from the Germans. That is why he did not press the "run away" button

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

BA-64 is already done, but as you can see its not in the mod at this point... (does not necessarily mean its going to be in)

It may make it in as a reward unit, though.

I never said I knew.  The devs have started talking about reward units recently-you can find posts about them.  There has even been talk about replacing the T-90.

Re: BA-64 armored reconnaissance car

That car would be okay as a scout unit and YES T-90 fulfills the same damn role but you still need to build the tank hall to gain access to it in the first place. Wehr & Americans get scout cars a tiny bit earlier.

But... my scout is a flood of conscripts anyways  ;D
