Red Army now is in 1941, but need to be in 1944

About infantry: conscript squad need change size, max
6-5 soldiers and all with rifles.
Regulars need change size to 5 soldiers and guard to 4 soldiers.
Maybe command squad need to be without infantry bodyguard.
Delete Upgade "Supply new Conscripts with more rifles, Petrol Bombs and a Commissar to lead the way".
Keep only Petrol Bombs(or molotov)
All infantry cost need increase, how like americans or brits
45\man 6 sec minimum etc. And maybe increase soldiers health from 50 to 55-60. Add formation like americans rifleman squad.
Delete USSR flag from uprade PPSH.

Why? Because:
1) Red Army infantry now is in 1941, but need to be in 1944.
In 1944 years all infantry have Rifle and PPSH.
2) Very much USSR flag reminds me Red Alert game.
3) Some moments insults USSR Army and people.

Please look films about Eastern front, and not only Enemy at the Gates. Best choice USSR, Russian films. And maybe you understand me.

Who said Eastern Front was based in 1944?

I wish people on these forums would stop thinking that the only exposure us in the West get about the USSR is from Enemy at the sodding Gates.

Its Russian people on these forums, its like they gather around the watercoolers at work and laugh at the silly 'westerners' who watch Enemy at the Gates daily and believe it as fact.  I havent seen that movie in 7 years, and it really had no effect on me about what i think about Russian culture or Soviets during World War 2.  Just let it go.

And CoH has no set time frame, units are taken from various times and places in Europe to make gameplay more interesting.

Exactly, and since the Eastern Front was occuring over years and a huge amount of battlefields, we chose to give Eastern Front no specific year.

And you don't think the American and British armies are stereotyped by movies either? Half of the American faction is a reference to Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers.

They're just following Relic's 'style', but they still managed to incorporate realism with gameplay to some degree.

The British clearly take after games like Call of Duty 1 and 2, and old movies like "A Bridge too far" and The Longest Day

And like Victorious said Americans take after Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan.

You can create good balanced Red Army.
Now, its low cost spam big deadly squad, and not interesting gameplay, no tactic, its very sadly, only spam first infantry, second T-34, IS-2, BM-13.

Sorry but I think ur wrong here: I so far never went to tanks straight after mustring tent so far. The support tier gives u a lot of good units to adapt to many different strategies that are much more useful than a early t-34. Lose ur tank cause ur opponent is not a noob and its gg. So play it safe and go for combined arms instead its more fun anyway. Wich brings me straight to the topic of ur post. I see this game as a new form of enhanced chess. The most important thing here is that is fun to play because of nice units really fun maps and good tech trees. There remains some polishing, sure thing but soviets are still the most intriguing approach to coh since vannilla coh.

You can play Eastern Front Soviets as any year you want to. You only need to choose the right doctrine and the right units.


If you want to play early Soviets, use Propaganda.

For late Soviets, use Armored Breakthrough (and Strelkys instead of conscripts).

For early/urban combat situations like Stalingrad, use Urban Combat.

You have Ingenery, build the infantry tent and the support weapons building and you´re up to Strelkys. Not that difficult to do.

I think that if someone offer to them a fully finished concept, then they may think about the right Red Army. I want to finish it after a session in the University.

hmm, i think you would reskin it to americans. But they just turned around.

And then, why should it be based on 1944? And by the way, the vanilla coh units also doenst fit the exact things of the history behind those units. And the mod is fine for the early stages, it got point where it should be shaved, to remove the hair. But then it will be great, just like your chin totally bold
