What does Micro mean?

Hey i've been looking round this forum and "micro" is a word thats being used often round here.

Can somebody tell me what on earth does it mean?

Micro basically means 'micro managing', aka keeping an close eye on and constantly moving and manipulating unit(s) to get the best out of a situation. An example of this is often done when trying to take out a powerful enemy tank in game. You micro several of your own tanks to try and out maneuver and destroy that powerful enemy tank. Of course, while doing this, you can't pay much attention to the rest of the battlefield as well...
