Ostheer, a "call-in army" suggestion

I had an idea that the Ostheer might start out with "locals" like romanians, italians or finnish, and these soldiers would be like light infantry and vehicles.

Then they would have to upgrade and call in all german heavy units and tanks. :)

Like you have to build a building where you could upgrade it so that you could call in for example a halftrack filled with grenadiers (not vannila ones, of course ::))

I don't know how this would be balanced or anything, but it would sure give a feeling of being an "assulting" army. :D

Why would you start with locals if the germans are the main attack forces n the eastern fronts?

ok, I see what you mean, but the main idea was the thing about calling in most troops.

How about calling in HIWIs or foreign volunteers ? ;)

Fun, but, ey. Germans were 80% of equipment and worthwhile
troops on Eastern Front. Contrary, Finns and Rumanians should
be the ones to be called in. Not Germans :)

I INSIST!! Finns, etc to be present, especially since there are
already 2 fully german factions in-game :) But... :)

I might not be historically correct, but I think that it could work and would give a different feel to the faction.

They said no to finn/norvegian call-ins... with german primary.
What do you think they would say to Finn/Norvegian primaries
with German call-ins ? :)

I'm sticking to German + finn/norwegian call-ins myself.

loup: norwegians would be just like volksgrenadiers, most norwegians were drafted, not volunteered. Norway was occupied by, not allied with, germany. The norwegian nazi party had like a hundred members when the germans put them in charge. So norwegians were forced to fight for Germany.

And my point with this is that you can only build like light infantry, engineers and trucks. All heavy infantry, tanks or other vehichles have to be called inn.

Or maybe their elite call-inn unit (everyone has one  ;)) can be transported inn by a halftrack. I JUST WANT TO SEE A GODDAMN HALFTRACK ROLLING FROM THE END OF THE MAP FILLED WITH SOLDIERS!!! or maybe two ;)
