Quick questions

I've had this on my mind for a little while now and I want to know...

1)The Commander and his Honor guard buildable by the HQ at the start can call in arty right? so... whats to stop someone spaming this unit and calling in arty once with every squad?

2) IS the ISU-152 more of a StuH or a Jagdpanther?

3)Is there a limit to the number of Katyusha's you can call in?

4) How are the IL-2 Sturmoviks comming out?

5) Have you guys figured out how to mount Guard inf  on t-34's yet?

6) This kinda belongs in the mapping form but while i'm here, i noticed that you guys took down the finished map post, i'm just curious why you guys did that,

Well... I'm done, how to hear from you guys soon ;)

Re: Quick questions

@ DEVs: Don't you think you take it a bit too serious with NDA?
Why did you delete nbeerbowers post?  :'(

Re: Quick questions

The Beta Non-Disclosure Agreement must be taken seriously. We ask our beta testers to abide by these rules in return for playtesting our hard work earlier than the rest of the world.

For now, the beta is completely censored, but it isn't like you are being left in the dark; we do have a big info/media update on the way.

Re: Quick questions

If we didn't take it serious, what would be the point in even having the NDA? Devs are here to answer questions, not Beta Testers.

I'll answer the first question - You can only build ONE command squad.

Re: Quick questions

Will put my knowledge to the test and see if I can get any of these  :)

Somewhere inbetween most likely (as it actually was). Something like a StuH with increased armour penetration

FriendlyFire wrote:3)Is there a limit to the number of Katyusha's you can call in?

Im sure I read somewhere on the many posts on moddb that there isnt one currently

FriendlyFire wrote:4) How are the IL-2 Sturmoviks comming out?

For the first release it will probably be a reskinned P-47, then the model added in an update

FriendlyFire wrote:5) Have you guys figured out how to mount Guard inf  on t-34's yet?

Not yet, its being worked on

This might be wrong, but atleast I tried  :P
All stuff I seem to remember from reading through the moddb site at various times

Cheers

Re: Quick questions

The Sturmovik is actually a reskinned Typhoon. But yeah, we'll have a model for it eventually.

Re: Quick questions

Regarding my post:

I apologize, at the time I was acting impulsively and didn't even stop to think that I was potentially breaking the NDA. I thought I was doing the developers a favor by answering a few trivial questions.

But now I realize and understand that you guys worked very hard on this mod, and would like to answer the questions yourselves - at your own discretion. (the "media updates" can be very exciting)

If I could go back, I would have never posted it. I personally don't believe the developers were being harsh by deleting it; they were just protecting their intellectual property. I'm glad they've been understanding of this situation, and it hasn't escalated to an unnecessary point.

Thanks everyone,

Re: Quick questions

I'll answer the first question - You can only build ONE command squad.
: Build? TRAIN!
: Does that mean once he dies, he's gone forever? ;)
Or did you mean you can only ever have one... ...
... at a time? ;) (Yes, replaceable once dead)

: Does Officer die last in his squad or can he be killed first?
: Same question, but for Sharpshooters. Is it always the
rifleman who gets shot first?
: Suggestion : Make Sharpshooter lose binocular/Artillery
capability when rifle/radio guy is missing.

2) IS the ISU-152 more of a StuH or a Jagdpanther?
: More of a Jagpanther, apparently, which is so wrong, and
makes me so sad. It's as accurate as making 60 foot tall
US riflemen fire fireballs :p

3)Is there a limit to the number of Katyusha's you can call in?
: Nope. It's the Russian Stuka Half Track. I think it should
have a heavy muni price tacked on, or something. Or a 6
unit limit at least (16 missiles each Calli is 32). So 4 to
equal 2x Calli. Calli has armor, Katyusha doesn't. So make it
3(6). Would be about right.

4) How are the IL-2 Sturmoviks comming out?
: Someone answered already. But god, they should put
it in :) At least it's single-engined. But I don't see why
there should be any difficulties. It's a simple plane.

5) Have you guys figured out how to mount Guard inf  on t-34's yet?
: Nope. I hope they can fire from tanktop though
(Like from PE half tracks). I read something interesting
about T34 parasite troops being described as 'Feral'. Lol.
They were shot if they left their T34, ack.

Re: Quick questions

Loupblanc please, shut the hell up. I've already explained why the ISU is as it is, and we are not going to change it just because the realism fetishists are complaining of some minor historical inaccuracies. If you don't like the way we've balanced the mod, tough shit. A 60 foot rifleman is in no way comparable to having AP shells instead of HE shells, you're waay over dramatising the situation.

Suhhhweeeet!

And actually Loup brought up an interesting question. Will squads be able to fire while tank-mounted or will they have to dismount to engage?

I guess it's a question of movement convenience (a la half-track) vs. combined arms strategy with infantry supporting armor.

Re: Quick questions

If you make like the PE halftracks, that would be pretty cool. Also, is it still just guards, or conscripts and strelky as well?

Re: Quick questions

- Meh. At least I explain, try to stimulate thought, and
offer ideas as how to maky things balanced yet unique,
which are easily workable within the system.
- I don't throw in LOL, or 'First POST' comments.
- I did however, comment on whole topic/colums,
following on finally speaking out after lurking for some
2 years. So of course, I had something to say.

- NO. I did NOT see any explanation as to WHY it was
the way that it was. The only thing I did read was that
: 'It's like a jagpanther, don't like it, though shit'.

I would like more details, if I may. And your rationale
for this?
- Minor? Saying the Priest is a Jadpanther is minor?
- Yes, using a 60foot rifleman is an exageration. But to
underline a point. Focus on what I am trying to get at,
and not necessarily my graphic way of trying to get it
across :) I bring valid points.
- Yea, infantry mounted on tanks should be able to
fire. It's not like they are within. They are quite exposed.
Talking of exposed, will they be very vulnerable?
- It'd be REALLY nice if it were strelky and conscrits as
well :) But I won't make an issue of it if it's only guards.
Perhaps you need special training to sit on a tank? :)
: Ford, I've been watching this mod for 2 years. I've been
in WW2 games forever or so, and been registered here
since March or something (To register for the french
translation job). But I got sidetracked, and ended up
not partaking.  I just been silent a long time, and now it's
all come out in one shot, and I've been replying to whole
long discussions at a time, is all.
