Exe doesnt do anything at all...

Hey there....

I am looking forward to playing this mod, but sadly everytime I double click the exe to start the instal, it doesnt do anything but freeze for hours.
I did try the other mirrors and I do have a legit COH version... right patch etc etc..

It looks like I am the only one with this problem...

I hope you guys can help me out!

Do you have sufficient rights to run an installer on that machine?
How much space is free on your harddrive partions (esspecially your Windows partion)?

This sounds an awful like you do not have enough space for the installer to extract its' files properly.

Yes I have ever tried running it as administrator a few times.
I still have 20gb free space on my C drive and 100gb on my D.

That should be more then sufficiënt right?

Yes, indeed it is. I guess you took the the installer from the ModDB mirrors?
Did you really wait hours for the installer to start?
Can you post your system's specifications?

Could you tell us what's the size of your installer? Remember the mirrors are divided in three parts and you need all of them to extract the full installer; if you just got one and extracted it (or just renamed it's extension to exe), it ain't gonna work.

Yes I literly waited 2 hours haha!
I downloaded the single file last time (1,9gb). That is the exe about which I am speaking.
The 3 seperate files didnt work for me either =[

Sadly I must admit that I dont really know here to find my system's specifications... I will ask my partner is she knows how to find it! I will edit my post by then.

The three part file needs to be extracted into one, have you done it?

Also I still havent found my system specs... All I can tell you that I am running windows 7 with 4gb work memory.

4GB is not that much considering you got 2,8GB already taken by Windows and Service programms (talking about a clean computer now). Imagine loading 1,93 GB into the Ram then = 4,73 GB. This could be a problem, the installer can't load all files into the Ram. So it probably tries to temporarly put it on harddrive (this is why it takes so long). That's really the only explanation I can come up with. You are lacking working memory :P.

Hmmm I am willing to give the 3 seperate files another go! But last time a friend of mine put em together....
And to be honest, I dont know how to combine them! I just searched on the forum but didnt find anything on it.

No problem, we'll explain it this is what this forum is for ;).

If it's 3 WinRar files then just unpack the first one and have the others inside the same folder. It will automatically merge them into one file. That's it.

Hmmm they 3 files are called 002 files..and I can seem to open them or merge them. Should they be Winrar files?

Alright, I just got the 3 files in a winrar zip... but when I upack the 1st, nothing really happens :P They are all 3 in the zip file!

The installer is split in three so the three files will have the same name if you open each of them, but their size will be different because they are split. Just as Walki said, extract the first zip file and it will continue automatically with the other two. If you extract the second or the third part it is not going to work. All the zip files should be in the same folder too when extracting the content.
