Re: Red Spam
Nope.
I know this mod isn't about realism, but you have to accept that Stalin and all the other communists just didn't care about the life of their soldiers or even the material (tanks, guns etc.).
As long as the Germans can counter the massive spamming of "worthless" inf and the great power of heavy soviet tanks, I see no reason for not making the Red Army somewhat a "spam-fraction".

We already have a spam faction in CoH and that's the Americans. From what I understand, the Soviets in-game rely on combined arms more than any other faction - which coincidentally mirrors history - and I applaud the mod designers for that.

Re: Red Spam
on the contrary i find the concept of the conscript spam to be quite realistic.

Re: Red Spam
don't talk about the "realistic" conscript spam to Slav. >:(
I assure you that the existence of conscripts squads, one rifle for two, and KV-2 in 1944 - is not realistic.
But now we are talking about the gameplay.

Re: Red Spam
The Red Army was completely different in the 1941-1943 and 1943-1945. I think it's silly to try to cover the all Great Patriotic War in the mod.
This is same, that to make the Brits from Dunkirk to the Overlord.
Incidentally, KV-2 is tank of the beginning of the war, not "later years".
In addition, all other armies are based on 1944.
In general, I had wanted to talk not about this

Re: Red Spam
We felt that the best way to get a sense of variety within Eastern Front was to handpick units from a variety of operations, situations and periods within the Second World War.
There is no denying that 'spam' was in part of the Red Army doctrine during World War 2. But there were also clever tactics and original uses of heavy, expensive and elite units. It is up to the player to decide what they do, just like a real officer.

Re: Red Spam
Actually, on this topic, I have been wondering if cap could
be put unto some units, like SU85 (2?3?) and IS2 (4?). I
know there is cap on KV2/ISU152 :)
T34/T70 though, I don't mind. They were common enough
to go with no limitations.
I know I would buy some T34 if I couldn't go apeshit
on IS2 construction :) (10x Pershing attack!!!!).
You know, there are many people in the country today who, through no fault of their own, are sane. Some of them were born sane. Some of them became sane later in their lives. It is up to people like you and me who are out of our tiny little minds to try and help these people overcome their sanity
