No, there shouldn't. They're powerful enough without them.

Re: Light Vehicles 4 Russia

But the motorpool gives them a bit flexibility. From what Ive seen, Russian faction is all brute force and little flexbility.

Re: Light Vehicles 4 Russia

Flexibility is there, but its down to the individual player to make use of it... you can be as tactical or as brainless as you want to be. The Soviets have pretty much everything they need, we've had no complaints during the Beta about the lack of light vehicles. Extra light vehicles would add nothing except extra balance issues (and we have enough of those at the moment).

Dont they have that truck with like a billion missiles on the back? Does that come from the tank hall?

The Katyusha rocket launcher is available through the Propaganda War Strategy tree.

Re: Light Vehicles 4 Russia

Katyusha has 16 rockets.
Callioppe has 32 rockets.
Hardly a billion. Shouldn't complain when Callioppe has
twice as many ;) Hmm?

I vote for Katyusha being limited to 6 though? :)
1 callioppe = 2 katyusha.
Callioppe has armor, AND machine-gun. AND is more
compact. / Comparing it to a Priest, then. And saying 6?

It'd be nice for Stuka-HT to be limited to 6 as well,
but, meh. I'll go roll over some fool krauts while driving
my Pershing leisurely, now ;)
You know, there are many people in the country today who, through no fault of their own, are sane. Some of them were born sane. Some of them became sane later in their lives. It is up to people like you and me who are out of our tiny little minds to try and help these people overcome their sanity

Re: Light Vehicles 4 Russia

Katyusha is currently limited to 3

Re: Light Vehicles 4 Russia

Speaking of Katyusha's, any chance we can see the effect of just 1 firing. If i remember, all the current vids have at least 3, and that one even had around 10-15  :P. I understand it for the show, but I am just curious to see the effectiveness of just one, since I doubt I will make more than that

Katyusha being limited to 3.
Callioppe is 32 rockets. How many rockets did you give
Katyusha, and are those the same rockets?. One callioppe
is pretty weak. To be effective, you need to fire both
together. Translated to Katyushas (since it is arguably
the same system)...

You'd need to give soviets 4-6 to equate Callioppe.
Unless you give 'em more rockets (32?) or made said
rockets more powerful.

Possible to have more details on in-game Katyusha
payload? The're a lot more fragile (I assume) thank Calli's
or, worse, Priests.

Thoughts?

Re: Light Vehicles 4 Russia

Thats my question with this guy

Re: Light Vehicles 4 Russia

Arguably, this is to do with the balance of the Propaganda Doctrine... its the most defensive of the Soviet Doctrines, you can pretty much sit Katyusha's behind trenches and MG dugouts  and just fire away without much fear of them being attacked directly.

Re: Light Vehicles 4 Russia

- No... my question was never answered.
1) How many missiles.
2) Is it more fragile than Priest/Callioppe.
3) What dmg do missiles/missile spread do from an
individual katysha spread do? And if I was correct in
assuming it would follow a Callioppe dispersion pattern.

And THEN on that data, compare it to other equivalencies
(2x Calliope).

If a katyusha is worth HALF a callioppe, then 3x Katyusha
are worth less than 2x Callioppes (16 vs 32 missiles each).
Assuming missiles do the same damage, and that reload
times are equivalent.

But what he just said (Burrodiablo) is food for thought.
I had not seen it from a defensive/offensive point of
view?.  Must make tests :) Need data :)
