New Faction - Finnish

Maybe when you need a new project. you could consider a new faction Finnish. However, it was part of the Eastern Front in WW2. The strategy completely based on guerrilla warfare and artillery fire. Maybe shit and totally over-priced tanks, go over some of the aircraft impact, a lot of tactical ambush troops and foxholes. I hope i will see Finnish part of game some day....

There are currently no plans on adding even more factions to Eastern Front. We're busy enough with Ostheer and Soviets at the moment. Also, afaik there's no interest in creating a subfaction or another new mod for Finnish. However, some Finnish units will be present in a Foreign Support type reward doctrine for the Ostheer, featuring some  unique weapons and weapon modifications used by the finnish army.

I agree i would also love to see a Fnnish faction, or some Finnish unit's the asymmetric warfare element of the Finnish would be very very exciting in game, ambushes are my favourite tactic's c:< though even more than finnish i would love to see some ANZAC reward unit's for the commonwealth after all it was a New Zealander who created the concept of SAS

There is a low change / possibility to add one finnish Unit to a new Doctrin.
But i think the finnish Army did not take part of the real Easter Front, means the did not support the Wehrmacht.
The Finnish Army fought their own war, they didnt attack Leningrad for example

Yes, but Bish said he wanted them in-game. Moreover, they might not have been part of the 'real' eastern front, but they fought, together with the Germans, against the Soviets. There already is a Finnish map in the game, so it does not matter.

On the other hand, people really don't seem to get how much work goes into creating a faction. The answer is simple, no new factions. It is too much work. We find other ways to represent nations.

The one thing I always wonder when people want this or that is: What will that addition accomplish?

Having a faction rely on ambushes and artillery seems really gimmicky. It may be fun to play with that but how fun would it be to play against it?

It's different, if your fighting an enemy who is buffed for assymetric warfare or tenacious defense, it's new, you have to adapt and use the appropriate counter strategies
