WWII Squad Organisation

Hey. :)

Does anybody know anything about real-life WWII squad loudouts? Specifically German and Soviet loadouts? From what I've found online:

Most Soviet squads were 9 men by the end of the war, and were armed with:

  • 1-2 DP-28 LMGs.

  • 7-8 Mosin-Nagant rifles and/or PPsh-41 submachine guns.

  • RG-42 frag grenades.

  • RPG-43 HEAT grenades.

Sometimes they had:
  • 1-3 SVT-40 semi-auto rifles.

  • A PTRS-41 anti-tank rifle.

Most German squads were also 9 men by the end of the war, more standardised, and were armed with:

  • 1 MG-42 GPMG.

  • 5-7 Karabiner 98k rifles.

  • 1-3 MP40 submachine guns.

  • Stielhandgranate 24 frag grenades.

  • 1-5 Panzerfausts.

Sometimes they had:
  • 1-2 Gewehr 43 semi-auto rifles.

  • A Sturmgewehr 44.

I'm also interested in similar data (and proper squad titles) for other Soviet units (Guards, Sappers, Assault Engineers, MG/mortar/AT gun teams, etc) and German units (Pioneers, Sturmpioneers, Waffen SS, Brandenburgers, MG/mortar/Panzerschreck/Pak teams, etc). Thanks for reading, any info would be really helpful. :)

Re: WWII Squad Organisation

For the german datas u have to search for the KstN (Kriegsstärkenachweis - wartime organisation table) and for the red army for the red army TO&E
(Table of organisation and equipment). I think that i have a number of datas here but i have to look into my books and datas. Will take some time.
But with this "terms" u will find a lot of stuff by google and co..

WWII Squad Organisation

Poland wasnt a part of the USSR pre-WW2, it was a part of the former Tzarist Russia, but that was long over.

What is meant by Poland was part of the Soviet Union before WWII? It most definetly was NOT.
