A ww1 coh mod

We were talking about if it was technically possible to put Calvary units into the game. And in theory it is. So this could open up a wider range of dates for modders to use (mostly ww1, and the German invasion of Poland)
Would you guys like to see a world war one mod for company of heroes???

It was dead for a while, but is now back in business apparently.
Give it a look, they'll probably give an update fairly soon.

:)

I knew this mod was dead and people are still saying it is dead on moddb.com so I am not quite sure. Also making it in the Eastern front would be A LOT easier for modders to make. Because of no trenches to keep men in.

Re: A ww1 coh mod

Take a look on the last page of the relicforums thread.

The mods creator posted just over a month ago saying it isnt dead and there's going to be news soon  :)

Hmm, the Eastern Front in WWI had trenches just like in the West

Re: A ww1 coh mod

The Eastern Front of the WWI was more mobile, and the World War I turned into the Revolution and the Civil War, in which the important role played by the cavalry and the rail-road.

yes my point exactly which is why it would be much simpler for them to make it on the eastern front

Re: A ww1 coh mod

Aye, simple isnt always good though. This mod would've been alot simpler if they included lend-lease shermans etc, but it wouldn't be as good.

Same with the Great War mod, whilst it may be harder to make WWI style trench warfare, in the end it will be alot more fun and different than just playing CoH where the Germans have pointy hats.

Slightly exaggerated i know, but you get the point.

Besides, what could possibly be more fun than standing in waste high muddy water waiting for certain death?  :P

Well thats not what i mean by simple. I'm sorry I didn't explain it a tad better. By simple I mean that the AI wont freak out. The AI would be almost incapable of keeping troops in the trenches for long periods of time. So thus rendering the AI useless in a online game, skirmish, or even a campaign
Does that help you under stand what im suggesting?
