ISU-152 vs. PAK 38

I was playing a game against Normal Wehrmacht and one of its vet 3 Pak 38s completely owned my vet 1 ISU-152, which was at like 80-90% health. The 2 were face to face, the thing fired something like 4-5 shots at the AT gun. And every single one of them missed. At the end my ISU-152 got destroyed by that and a 50 mm Puma firing rear shots (which came at the very end of the showdown).

Now I understand that Pak 38s are suppose to have an edge against tanks for balance reasons but what just happened there make them way too OP. I can also understand that they're Vet 3 but I always believed that Wehrmacht Vet 3 is suppose to be less strong than other Vets because it is purchased and not earned.

See... AT guns are designed to kill tanks, not tanks to kill AT guns .

In the game every tank can be killed with AT gun and if you try  face to face fight it will always have the chance to kill your tank.

It is the same with american anti tank guns they are also IMO very dangerous for tanks specially with their ultra range and its the same for brittish anti tanks guns as well, the germans are not any special. Try play as an american or against them and you will see your tanks getting slaughtered by those anti tank guns.

Even a heavy tank like the ISU-152? I think that the Germans invented a force field for their AT guns which automatically deflect all 152mm shots.

True, but remember that Wehrmacht veterancy is purchased, so basically if you have problem with one AT gun, you'll have it with all AT guns. You can't just send a sniper to decrew 1 vet 3 AT gun. Which  honestly is pretty unfair. I really wonder what went through Relic's head when they implemented veterancy for WM.

ISU gets a slight hp buff in the next patch, and I'll check its penetration values of pak 38 against ISU 152. Thx for notificating us.

2 ways to remedy this situation: 1.Direct fire your ISU. Explosive shelled tanks like both ISUs, the KV-2, the STuH, etc. are all inaccurate with their own weapons when told to attack. Instead tell them to direct fire on the ground that the target is standing on and you will see an improvement in killing power  ;D 2.Support your tanks. This cannot be said enough, no matter how big or strong your tank is it NEEDS infantry or light tank escort. When such an AT gun appears, pull your heavy tanks back and flank the weapon crew with light tanks or move in with infantry until the AT is destroyed. Having a good team of tanks and infantry that can be microed to their fullest is possibly the greatest asset in this game. I know your frustration though, it's just something you have to learn to combat.
